Fashion Meets Technology: Burberry’s Angela Ahrendts and Apple Computers

Fashion has inherently seen some of the most creative minds in the world’s history. Influence in culture, politics, and now the future’s technology landscape will all have seen fashion’s ability to drive success and define society. Khristina Schake left her White House position shaping the image of the Obama Administration to take over as Global Communications for L’Oreal. After years of success shaping and defining Burberry, Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts will move on to Apple as Senior VP of Retail and Online Stores which is the face of the tech giant.

Angela has lead the British based luxury goods firm, Burberry, in strategy and growth for the last decade! She describes her tenure at Burberry “an honour”. Her new role at Apple will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook. It’s been rumored that Angela’s move to Apple was to support the development of the iWatch. This move was made just three months after Apple recruited Paul Deneve, former Chief Executive of Yves Saint Laurent for “Special Projects”

Apple is the most influential technology brand in the marketplace and a favorite amongst the creative arts industry. I’m actually writing this on an iPad mini.

Burberry shouldn’t lose a step with the loss of Ahrendts because they have already decide to make Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, her replacement. He’s been Burberry for six years now and will keep his role of Chief Creative Office with the promotion of Chief Executive.

According to BBC, Burberry chairman Sir John Peace described Ms Ahrendts’ departure as “a natural progression”.
