Chadwick Bozeman Brings His Talents Back To The Big Biopic Blockbuster


Lead actor Chadwick Bozeman is slated to carry the load of The Lengendary James Brown. The contracts aren’t finalized but the choice has been made, according to VARIETY.

Bozeman took on Jackie Robinson in 42 alongside Harrison Ford earlier this with big success. It looks like Bozeman is seeking to certify himself as Blockbuster actor with second major biopic. It’s not a bad strategy given Hollywood’s strategy to produce bigger budget films that A- listers tend to covet.

Variety also reported,

…Pic follows Brown’s rise from extreme poverty in Georgia to becoming a world famous and highly influential R&B musician with a string of hits in the 1960s and ’70s including “Please, Please, Please,” “I Got You (I Feel Good),” “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag” and many others. Brown died in 2006 at age 73.

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant and Taylor announced that the a lot of the film would be shot in Mississippi.

Tate Taylor the film’s Director and Mississippi native has expressed lots of passion for the film being shot in his hometown of Mississippi.

“Every frame will be shot in Mississippi. We’re even doing Paris, France, in Mississippi. … Vietnam, as well, in Mississippi,” Taylor said at the Mississippi Coliseum on the state fairgrounds in Jackson, where some scenes will be shot.

Filming will take place in November and December in and near Natchez, a Mississippi River town in the southwestern corner of the state; and in January and February in the capital city of Jackson

Universal has announced that the James Brown Biopic will be released Oct. 17, 2014 under the title “Get On Up”

Bozeman can be seen playing opposite Kevin Costner in Summit’s NFL film “Draft Day”
