Online Fashion Mags Emerging as Alternative to Print

Digital Commerce

With the emergence of digital magazines the industry has seen a slight decline in print; although ad buys are still holding steady. The number of people actually picking up magazines may be dropping slightly, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t reading.

According to the New York Times, Glamour dropped 28.8%, Cosmo 24%, In Style 19%, and Vogue 10.4%. That’s not exactly good news coming from some of fashion’s top 25 publications.

Again, that doesn’t mean people are reading. Fashionista reported the online version for publications has doubled and the leader in online subscribers Cosmo has seen a 33% increase to 246,815.

We at Style No. 601 haven’t quite reached the Cosmos yet, but we are definitely trendy with the Stars.
