Gucci Opens Sixth Men’s Only Store in Sao Paulo

Franco Plays Host At New Gucci Store

A growing economy and the world’s seventh largest economy by purchasing power parity has surely gotten the attention of Major Luxury Brand Gucci. Brazil’s Sao Paulo is officially Gucci’s new home to its sixth men’s store and who else is better to fete the new store other than Hollywood Staple, James Franco.

A small crowd waited to see Franco at JK Iguatemi shopping mall. Franco wore a custom suit with Gucci’s 1953 moccassins, a Style601 style choice.Franco-sao-paulo

“Shoes are bestsellers here,” said Roberto Paz, the new president of Gucci Latin America. He explained that men buy mostly off-the-rack shoes — made-to-measure pairs cost up to three times more and take six weeks to deliver. “The men here are more immediate, they need to be educated to wait.”

With Brazil’s growing market, Paz will run a office in Brazil that will staff 20 people in areas of Operation, Finance, and Merchandising. Gucci also plans to open an accessories store in Rio at the Village Mall this month.

Franco who was also in town for a fashion shoot with Brazilian GQ went on to Numero after Champagne at the store to attend the Gucci hosted preview of his short films “Joan of Arc” and “Dionysus”.
