Kate Spade Partners with CVFF

The first season of Fashion Fund was a dynamic of exhibition of some of the world’s most talented fashion designers from womenswear, menswear, and jewelry collections. Joseph Altuzarra took home the Grand Prize by proving his passion and incorporating a unique aesthetic for prints in his full collection of womenswear, shoes, and accessories. Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind were recipients of the 100,000 runner-up prize. Fashion Fund’s unique three month mentorship program proved to be beneficial for one jewelry designer Dana Lorenz who got to have lunch with her new mentor Vera Wang.

This year Kate Spade New York joins the list of mentors to provide brand development to 5 CVFF designers over a three month period.  According to CFDA, Kate Spade New York will also purchase media space for a full page ad in September 2012 issue of Vogue to 1 CVFF designer alumni who best demonstrates the ability to develop their brand as a creative and unique entity.

Deborah Lloyd, President and Creative Director of Kate Spade New York, says “Our mission is to take these designers who have already proven their creativity as finalists in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and help them build their brands to the next level from a marketing perspective.  We want to give them an opportunity to have an entire creative and marketing department behind them to help develop and execute their brand vision on a grand scale in the highest caliber of magazine- Vogue.”
